We believe that iloom has started making an impact in local communities. However, we wanted to come up with new initiatives that contribute to the fight against Covid-19.
We kept hearing that hospitals and other organizations were running out of protective equipment and were being forced to use bandanas and scarves or even reuse masks as a desperate measure to protect themselves. We realized that with so many linens still being shipped to us, we could donate the fabric towards mask production.
One of our Michigan volunteers, Harshita Aadhi, came across a local organization called Taj Cottage that has been donating masks to Michigan’s front lines. Aadhi contacted them offering to provide fabric and they enthusiastically accepted. iloom has already donated enough raw materials to potentially make over 2,000 masks.
